In all this talk about the future of XULRunner and Mozilla and Firefox nobody has mentioned Thunderbird. Can we just assume that Thunderbird is dead too?

It’s a good question. I It’s a good question. I can’t imagine they’ll kill it, but it certainly seems like an unwanted step-child, especially given Mitchell’s post… the question really is then: will Mozilla totally move away from non-Firefox application development?

I don’t think they’re putting much effort into it. It was one or two paid developers last time I heard.
